Radio technology is advancing quickly. Ultra high frequency systems like DSM are making radio glitching a thing of the past. Radio's are becoming lighter and the introduction of li-poly batteries has lowered the weight even more. On top of that, even budget radios are packed with features to make operating your RC Car or Truck easier than ever before.

AM / FM / DSM? What's that about?

AM Radios have been around since the beginning of the RC hobby.

Economical and reliable, they are a great starting point and are found in many Ready to Run kits. The major drawbacks to AM is that there are relatively few frequencies meaning you can run into conflicts and changing frequencies means carrying extra crystals for multiple channels.

FM Radios have a much greater number of frequencies available. Synthesized models allow you to change frequencies without the bother of crystals.

FM Radios are less susceptible to glitching than AM Radios.

DSM or Digital Spectrum Modulation radios take all of this to a new level. Operating in the 2.4 Ghz band frequency conflicts and glitching are a thing of the past.
